We know their love is true, but with this statement, Nicole Kidman is taking her love for Keith Urban to a whole new level. The actress says she’d give up her career for her hubby and her family.
Yes, that career. The one that includes blockbuster, critically-acclaimed films like Moulin Rouge and Cold Mountain, as well as her Academy Award-winning The Hours, and her newest film, Grace of Monaco, where she portrays Grace Kelly.
And it was that latter role that Kidman spoke of to the United Kingdom’s Daily Mail. She revealed that if her husband had not wanted her to take the role, she would have turned it down.
She told the Daily Mail, “If he said no, I wouldn’t have done it. That’s how we are. … I know this sounds old-fashioned, but I do put it on the table. Because if it won’t work for us, then I’m not doing it.”
When asked what she would choose if it came down to film or family time with Urban, she went on to tell them family would definitely come first, adding, “Yeah, if he asked me … no question.”
It’s both heartwarming and highly interesting that Kidman maintains a bold position on the issue because if you know anything about Urban and his love for his wife, it’s safe to assume the last thing he’d ever ask her to do is give up her passion and her livelihood.
It’s just nice to know that at the end of the day, she would do that, and something tells me Urban would do the same for his girls as well.
