The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry married J.P. Arencibia during ceremonies Thursday (June 12) in her hometown of Greeneville, Tenn., according to media reports.
A photo of Perry walking to the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Greeneville with family and friends was published late Thursday afternoon on the Greenville Sun newspaper website, and E! News reported that the ceremony was attended by Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, along with Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher.
Arencibia popped the question on Sept. 30 at Perry’s parent’s home. The singer knew Arencibia was coming to Tennessee but didn’t know about his elaborate plan. She thought her family was meeting to go to dinner, but when they called her to come outside, Arencibia was standing under an oak tree offer her a three-carat emerald cut diamond engagement ring.
Perry and Arencibia met in 2012 at the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Fla, where he used some connections to get backstage, then met Perry at the meet-and-greet.
Arencibia started his Major League career as a catcher for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2010 against the Tampa Bay Rays. He signed a $1.8 million contract with the Texas Rangers organization in December 2013.
The Band Perry appeared June 4 on the 2014 CMT Music Awards in Nashville and again Friday (June 6) at the CMA Music Festival during a concert that also featured, Shelton, Lambert, Eric Church, Jason Aldean, Travis Tritt and a special appearance by Underwood.
Kimberly Perry will join her brothers Neil and Reid when the trio’s tour resumes June 20 in Austin, Texas.
