'CMT Crossroads: Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves' Debuts Friday

The Two Stars Share the Stage to Perform Several of Their Biggest Hits

International pop star Katy Perry and acclaimed country artist Kacey Musgraves will share songs and stories on a new episode of CMT Crossroads premiering Friday (June 13) at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CMT.

Taped in Los Angeles, CMT Crossroads: Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves will feature exclusive collaborations of their hits, including Perry's "Roar" and "Teenage Dream" and Musgraves' "Follow Your Arrow" and "Merry Go 'Round."

For the first-time ever, the episode will air on multiple channels including VH1, MTV, MTV Hits and Palladia. CMT Crossroads: Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves marks the 50th episode of the network's longest-running music series.

Musgraves will open select shows on Perry's Prismatic World Tour in August. The two musicians appeared together on the cover of Billboard magazine in May.

Perry gained recognition in 2008 with the release of One of the Boys, an album that included hit singles such as "I Kissed a Girl," "Hot N Cold," "Thinking of You" and "Waking Up in Vegas." She achieved superstar status with her second album, 2010's Teenage Dream, which debuted at No. 1 in eight nations and spent more than two years on Billboard's Top 200 chart. She became the only female artist to have five No. 1 singles from one album on the Billboard Hot 100 chart -- "California Gurls," "Teenage Dream," "Firework," "E.T." and "Last Friday Night."

"Roar," the first single from her latest album, Prism, debuted at No. 1 on iTunes in 68 nations with 557,024 downloads in its first week of release, the biggest digital song sales week of 2013. The album also features other hits, including "Unconditionally," "Dark Horse" and "Birthday."

Musgraves' Mercury Records Nashville debut album, Same Trailer Different Park, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's country albums chart. Containing hits such as "Merry Go 'Round," "Blowin' Smoke," "Follow Your Arrow" and "Keep It to Yourself," it won a Grammy for best country album. She also received a Grammy for best country song for "Merry Go 'Round."

CMT Crossroads: Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves will also air Friday at 11 p.m. ET/PT, Saturday at 2 p.m. ET/PT and Sunday at 10 a.m. ET/PT on CMT.
