You know who you are, guys. You're the ones who write and sing country songs about girls in bikini tops and cutoffs and bare feet with tan legs.

So you shouldn't be offended then if some of those girls come back with a little retort of their own via a new tune to tell you how it feels to be that girl in your country song.

And that song -- by brand new duo Maddie & Tae -- is "Girl in a Country Song."

Since it paints a kind of ugly picture of what it's like to be that girl, it may be the best song you'll hear this summer once it hits radio stations on July 21. Unless, of course, you're one of the artists whose songs are referenced in this new single.

The songs opens by painting a picture of the girl who is the star of most country hits today:

"Well, I wish I had some shoes on my two bare feet/And it's gettin' kinda cold in these painted-on cut-off jeans/I hate the way this bikini top chafes/Do I really have to wear it all day?" (I think the duo should get extra points for finding a word that so closely rhymes with "chafes.")

Then the lyrics go on to mock some of today's country music with specific references to songs like Billy Currington's "Hey Girl," Blake Shelton's "Boys 'Round Here," Trace Adkins' "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk," Thomas Rhett 's "Get Me Some of That," Florida Georgia Line's "Get Your Shine On," Chris Young's "Aw Naw" and Jason Aldean's "My Kinda Party."

In their song, Maddie and Tae sing, "I hear you over there on your tailgate whistlin'/Sayin', 'Hey girl,' but you know I ain't listenin'/'Cause I got a name and to you it ain't pretty little thing, honey or baby/It's driving me red red red red red red redneck crazy."

And the chorus isn't really directed at any one guy in particular. Just kind of all of them.

"Being the girl in a country song/How in the world did it go so wrong?/Like all we're good for is looking good for you and your friends on the weekend, nothin' more/We used to get a little respect/Now we're lucky if we even get/To climb up in the truck, keep our mouth shut, ride along and be the girl in a country song."

There's another verse about "shakin' my moneymaker" and how "you gotta get you some of that" and that she might consider "sliding on over." By the end, there are some "aw naws" and a line about being someone's "tan-legged Juliet."

It's gutsy of Maddie and Tae to debut with a song this sassy. And I really hope the guys whose songs are mentioned aren't offended. But if they are, let's just remember this: They started it.
