Jason Aldean Debuts “Burnin’ It Down”

Florida Georgia Line Members Co-Write First Single From His Upcoming Album

It’s been nearly two years since Jason Aldean‘s Night Train rolled into town. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from him.

On Tuesday (July 22), that wait came to an end when Aldean released “Burnin’ It Down,” a sultry new slow jam from his next album.

“Been in the studio, got a new album coming out later this year, and this is the first single off of it,” Aldean told CMT Hot 20 Countdown .

Florida Georgia Line‘s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard co-wrote “Burnin’ It Down” with veteran Nashville songwriters Rodney Clawson and Chris Tompkins.

“Whenever we put an album out, most people are used to us coming out with a big, up-tempo like ‘My Kinda Party,’ so with this album we wanted to take a little different approach,” Aldean said.

The superstar has been burning a trail across North America with one of the summer’s hottest tours, and he raised the bar even higher by debuting “Burnin’ It Down” this past weekend with sold-out stadium shows in Cleveland and Cincinnati.

“When we went into this song, everybody just kind of stopped what they were doing and really was paying attention and listening,” Aldean said. “That’s always cool to see.”

Even though the crowd reaction was positive, Aldean admits it’s hard to tell how well the song will do. And nearing the nine-year anniversary of his debut album, the superstar can’t help reflecting on how far he’s come.

“When I got started, I was just kind of hoping to be able to cut a second album,” he admitted. “So the fact that here we are nine years later, and we’re about to release our sixth album, I think everything that’s happened in my career has been beyond anything I could have expected. And it’s been fun.”
