Justin Moore and Friends Heading to Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The Band Perry, Brantley Gilbert Also Appearing at Brickfest Music Festival

Justin Moore, The Band Perry and Brantley Gilbert will headline the Brickfest Music Festival on Saturday and Sunday (July 26-27) at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It's all part of the festivities surrounding the NASCAR Nationwide Series Lilly Diabetes 250 and the Sprint Cup Series Crown Royal Presents, the John Wayne Walding 400 at the Brickyard.

NASCAR and country music sure fit nicely together. At my house, it's like peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese or Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty. You get the picture.

Moore agrees. In a recent interview, he pointed out that country fans and race fans are a lot of the "same folks." He based his theory on two very important factors.

"The genre that we're in and their particular sport are both kinda built on, initially at least, blue-collar, middle-class, hard-workin' people," he said. "The other reason is passion. I think you've got very, very passionate fans on both sides of the spectrum in racing, and I think it's the same with country music."

Moore said he's thrilled to return to the speedway to be a part of the "Your Hero's Name Here" program which allows fans to nominate a local hero to have a NASCAR race named after them. This year, Moore revealed the hero would be Green Beret John Wayne Walding.

"It's been fun to get to know the families who have been honored and really interesting for me and a blessing," he said. "So I'm excited to be able to go back now for the fourth year in a row."

On Sunday morning, Gilbert will hit the stage to get the party started, and he's pretty pumped about it, as well.

"Getting to be a part of the Brickfest Music Festival is an unbelievable feeling ... you know, racing and country music, it doesn't get much better. It's gonna be a great stage, some great folks listening. It's gonna be an awesome time."
