Jason Aldean Is the Most-Downloaded Male Country Artist Ever

Singer Has Racked Up Over 21 Million Sales and Streams

Jason Aldean can add yet another extraordinary highlight to his resume.

The “Burnin’ It Down” singer has been named the most-downloaded male country artist in history by the Recording Industry Association of America, the trade group responsible for tracking gold and platinum certifications.

The honor celebrates Aldean’s accumulation of more than 21 million song downloads and on-demand streams during his career.

In a statement, Aldean thanked the RIAA and fans, saying that the honor is a huge one — something his entire team earned together.

“Burnin’ It Down,” currently at No. 1 on Billboard’s country songs chart, will only add to the already impressive total, and fans can expect new tracks to download this fall when Aldean releases his sixth album.

“We’ve always tried to put together a well-rounded album full of great songs,” he told CMT Hot 20 Countdown about his upcoming project. “People say it all the time, ’It starts with songs,’ and it does. That comes first, and I feel like we were able to do that. It’s been a couple of years since we released Night Train, so we’ve had time to find songs, and I think we’ve done a pretty good job of that, so I’m excited for this record.”

As for the vibe of the new project, Aldean says it will stay true to his signature sound — but with a few modifications.

“It’s gonna be fun, and there’s gonna be a lot of tempo stuff on there,” he revealed. “There’s also gonna be some things that sort of take you in a different direction every now and then, and then there’s things on there that are just great songs.”

Tune in to CMT Hot 20 Countdown this Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 9-10) at 11 a.m. ET/PT.
