Rascal Flatts Cancel Three Tour Dates

Lead Singer Gary LeVox Experiences Voice Problems After Concert, Media Schedule

Rascal Flatts have canceled three concerts this week after lead vocalist Gary LeVox lost his voice following recent concerts and media activities.

The cancellations include Thursday’s (Aug. 7) show in Nampa, Idaho, Friday’s concert in Airway Heights, Washington, and Saturday’s appearance at the Rocking’ River Music Festival in Mission, British Columbia.

The Idaho Statesman newspaper in Boise quoted bassist Jay DeMarcus in a report that included a statement from the promoter responsible for Thursday’s concert.

“It is incredibly difficult to make the decision to cancel shows and disappoint our loyal fans who have been so good to us over the years,” DeMarcus said. “The schedule of shows this past weekend, coupled with media days in New York City, have left him without a voice. We promise to return as soon as we can and give our fans the best show possible.”

LeVox experienced voice problems in April, and the band later acknowledged it had lip-synced during a performance at the ACM Awards.

Rascal Flatts’ tour is scheduled to resume Aug. 15 in Phoenix.
