Cadillac Three Recall Their Day Jobs

Paying the Bills by Sacking Groceries, Landscaping and Making Smoothies

They say life is all about the journey, not the destination. And we all know sometimes, the journey to the top can be a little rough and not so glamorous.

Just ask the Cadillac Three.

It wasn't always about touring the country, playing their singles for sold-out crowds, writing No. 1 songs for their artist friends. Jaren Johnston, Kelby Ray and Neil Mason have definitely paid their dues with day jobs.

For Johnston? "Foodland ... sackin' groceries," the group's lead singer laments.

Ray, the group's guitar player, was sweating it out in a different way.

"Definitely a landscaper. I lasted two days doing that," he admits.

And then there was Mason's stint as the king of smoothies.

"I made smoothies for three years," he said. "It was terrible."

However, Johnston was quick to come to his defense and quipped that his buddy "didn't just make smoothies, though. He was the manager at Smoothie King."

And Mason was quick to add, "I managed the hell out of that Smoothie King."

We bet you, did, Neil.

Fortunately, things have improved exponentially for the "Party Like You" guys. And now they are managing the hell out of their music career. The group has spent the summer touring heavily with their own shows in addition to opening for Jake Owen's Days of Gold tour.
