Darius Rucker Plans Christmas Album

'Home for the Holidays' Due Oct. 27

Darius Rucker will release his first Christmas album, featuring two new original songs, on Oct. 27. The project will be titled Home for the Holidays.

"I am so excited to finally make a Christmas album," Rucker said. "This has been a lifelong dream, and I hope my fans enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed making it."

Rucker and producer Frank Rogers co-wrote "What God Wants for Christmas" with Monty Criswell. In addition, Rucker and Rogers teamed with Steve Leslie for "Candy Cane Christmas." Sheryl Crow joins Rucker for the duet, "Baby, It's Cold Outside."

Other holiday selections on the album include "I'll Be Home for Christmas," "White Christmas," "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow," "Winter Wonderland," "Please Come Home for Christmas," "O Come, All Ye Faithful," "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch," "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

Rucker is also completing work on his upcoming country album, expected to be released in early 2015. That project's lead single in "Homegrown Honey."
