Another Perspective on Miranda Lambert’s Tears

Cancer Patient's Mother Says Lambert Sent Hope

You can watch the video of Miranda Lambert singing to the little girl with cancer a hundred times and only see what the Texas audience saw on Saturday night (Sept. 13).

But Brooke Hester and her mom Jessica saw something different. They saw Lambert tearing up and holding Hester’s hand from their unique vantage point and said it was a night they’ll never forget.

“It was an exhilarating moment filled with pure compassion, to say the least,” Hester’s mother told CMT.com. “And this moment truly stands out because of how genuine and heartfelt it was.

“Miranda made Brooke feel special and, most importantly, loved,” she added, calling Lambert someone who genuinely cares and hopes for a cure.

Brooked has been fighting stage four neuroblastoma (a nervous-system cancer) for the past four years.

But beyond just singing “Over You” straight to the Hesters, it seems like Lambert was doing something more.

“It was almost like she was saying a prayer for Brooke right there onstage — sending hope from her heart to mine for my sweet baby girl,” Hester’s mom recalled.
