Tim McGraw Tops Album Chart With Sundown Heaven Town

For Second Week, Dustin Lynch's "Where It's At (Yep, Yep)" Is No. 1 Song

Tim McGraw moves into the choicest real estate on Billboard’s country albums chart this week as his Sundown Heaven Town debuts at No. 1 on sales of 71,253 copies, as confirmed by Nielsen SoundScan.

Tracking in directly behind McGraw is the eternal George Strait with The Cowboy Rides Away: Live From AT&T Stadium. That album moved 51,318 units initially.

And for the second week, Dustin Lynch’s “Where It’s At (Yep, Yep)” occupies the top spot on the country airplay chart.

McGraw and Strait, who first charted in 1992 and 1981, respectively, have the only new albums this week.

However, Home Free’s Crazy Life rebounds at No. 29, and Sturgill Simpson’s High Top Mountain comes back at No. 44.

Five new songs enliven the charts. They are Eric Church’s “Talladega” (No. 45), Jason Aldean’s “Sweet Little Something” (No. 55), Jackie Lee’s “She Does” (No. 57), Trisha Yearwood’s “Prize Fighter,” featuring Kelly Clarkson (No. 59) and McGraw’s “Keep On Truckin'” (No. 60).

The No. 3 through No. 5 albums, in descending order, are Lee Brice’s I Don’t Dance (last week’s No. 1), Luke Bryan’s Crash My Party and Lynch’s Where It’s At.

Lining up in succession directly behind “Where It’s At (Yep, Yep)” are Cole Swindell’s “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,” Bryan’s “Roller Coaster,” Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt” and Kenny Chesney’s “American Kids.”

By the way, did you catch FGL singing “Dirt” earlier this week on the opening episode of the third season of Nashville? In the scene, they’re at the Bluebird CafĂ© and are accompanied by actor Charles Esten, who plays the lead character of Deacon Claybourne.

Also prominent in the scene was Thom Schuyler, writer of the iconic “16th Avenue,” who’s shown chatting with Deacon.

Looks like the Bluebird is becoming country music’s Camelot. Oh, well.
