Jason Aldean‘s life isn’t just golden these days. With a new album, a new fiancee and a platinum single in just nine short weeks, could life get any better for the Georgia native?
The superstar’s latest single, “Burnin’ It Down,” has also officially been certified platinum at lightning speed by racking up a total of 1 million sales and streams in just nine weeks. Not only is it a whopper of a hit for Aldean, but it is destined to be one of the top-selling singles of 2014.
“We definitely got a few sideways looks and some raised eyebrows when we released this thing,” Aldean said.
The single is a little bit different, but his fans think that’s fine. They’re loyal and trust his decision to go a little left of center with some of song selections on his new album, Old Boots, New Dirt, set for release Tuesday (Oct. 7).
“It’s so awesome that my fans trust that I have a pretty good ear for the kinds of songs they will like and that they follow me to new places with each album,” Aldean said. “I couldn’t be happier with all the excitement around the new music. It definitely feels like we’ve got something pretty cool happening going into album release.”
Aldean follows up a Wednesday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show when his Burn It Down tour resumes Thursday in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He’ll appear Friday in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Saturday in Las Vegas.
