Kellie Pickler Dazzles at USO Gala

Support of Troops Continues With Performance in Washington, D.C.

It's no secret Kellie Pickler loves the troops. And whenever she has the opportunity, she will stop her world to show her love and appreciation to them.

This past weekend, she did just that by lending her voice to the 2014 USO Gala in Washington, D.C., where some of the finest service members from all branches of our military and USO volunteers were honored by Washington dignitaries, members of Congress, military leaders, the USO board of governors and thousands of other guests.

Performing a set that included favorites like "Tough," "Someone Somewhere Tonight" and "Red High Heels," Pickler was honored to be a part of the evening.

"Because of our servicemen and women ... we get to wake up in the morning and be whoever we want to be," she told the crowd. "That's something we should not take for granted."

Last year, Pickler hosted a special Valentine's Day event for our women in uniform stationed in Afghanistan and Kuwait and also celebrated Christmas with troops in the Middle East. This year, she's the official ambassador of the USO's Every Moment Counts campaign geared toward encouraging all Americans to support the troops and their families.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Over the course of her career, Pickler has completed seven USO tours and performed for more than 33,000 troops.

Actress and comedienne Aisha Tyler joined Pickler to host the event in Washington. Pickler's husband, songwriter Kyle Jacobs, was also there to show his love and support for his talented other half.
