Miranda Lambert Gives Back to Furry Friends

Cause for the Paws Concert Raises $628,148 for Pet Adoption

Miranda Lambert may not have children of her own yet, but “fur babies” count for most of us, don’t they?

Yes, they do. So, technically, she’s a mama — and dang fine one, at that.

The superstar’s seventh annual Cause for the Paws benefit concert brought in a whopping $628,148 for her beloved MuttNation Foundation, she announced Friday (Oct. 24).

That’s a whole lot of kibbles and bits, y’all.

The show took place during her recent visit to Las Vegas for the Route 91 Harvest Festival at Mandalay Bay, a three-day event that also featured her husband Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean as headliners.

Also on the docket for Lambert were a sold-out VIP cocktail reception, a live and silent auction at the venue and an online eBay auction which included items from Shelton and Lambert, Live Nation and MGM Resorts.

“I always have a great time in Vegas, but being able to save dogs along the way was probably the best,” she said. “Getting to do what I love and help the cause that’s closest to my heart … it doesn’t get any better than that.”

The money raised will be put to good use in many ways, including the completion of Redemption Ranch, the very first MuttNation owned-and-operated shelter set to open on Nov. 22 in Lambert’s hometown of Tishomingo, Oklahoma.

And MuttNation Foundation isn’t slowing down. There’s an adoption event in Tulsa, Oklahoma, set for Sunday, while the foundation is also planning to continue their support for both Mutts Across America: 50 States/50 Shelters and Pets Fur People, the shelter where Lambert found her first shelter pet, Delilah.

Count on Lambert to be steadfast in her commitment to her furry pals. Just one of the many reasons she rules supreme in my book.
