Will Dierks Bentley Sweep the CMA Awards?

He's the Most-Nominated Male Artist This Year

I wonder if Dierks Bentley is nervous right now. As he heads into Wednesday night's (Nov. 5) CMA Awards show, he's this year's most-nominated male artist.

No pressure, right?

Bentley is the kind of guy who loves what he does and the fans who make it all possible. That's where his real reward comes from, so the success of this past year could seem justifiably a bit overwhelming. As he looks to the CMA Awards, he's got five nominations, including an album of the year nod for Riser.

"This summer's been so much fun, and to have everything be capped off with these five CMA nominations ... it's really been a perfect year," he said.

And the nods don't stop with his album. Bentley is also up for male vocalist, single and video of the year ("Drunk on a Plane") and song of the year ("I Hold On," the hit he co-wrote with Brett James).

If he wins them all, what a coup that will be for one of country's favorite guys. His only CMA win came in 2005 when he took home the Horizon Award. But no matter what happens this week, Bentley will go home a happy man.

"I'm just incredible grateful for the support overall over all my records and all my singles and songs but, in particular, this album because I think that my fans know this is a really special record for me," he said. "So it really is nice to be recognized for it."

Miranda Lambert is the night's top nominee, scoring nine total nods, including one for the CMA's biggest honor -- entertainer of the year.

Tune in to CMT on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. ET as the festivities kick off on the red carpet. Then watch Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood co-host the CMA Awards at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
