Carrie Underwood’s Baby Gender Revealed at CMA Awards

She Says Brad Paisley Kept the Secret for Two Minutes

Was it the gender reveal heard ’round the world?

Carrie Underwood (sort of) announced her baby is (possibly) a boy. Actually, it was her CMA Awards co-host Brad Paisley who revealed the news shortly after begging her to tell him the baby’s gender. After she whispered it to him, he told the crowd, “I’m so happy I know something y’all don’t. Suck it, TMZ!”

A few moments later, when Underwood and Paisley were talking about Garth Brooks‘ comeback, Paisley had the epiphany that Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher could name their little one — due to arrive in early spring — Garth.

“What’s wrong with you? You gotta be kidding me. You kept that secret for a whole two minutes,” Underwood revealed.

So while she didn’t share an ultrasound picture to prove it, the CMA Awards sure seem like the best place to tell the world she’s expecting a boy.

In the midst of hosting the live awards show, Paisley found time to tweet about the big announcement.
