In what will surely be one of the most talked-about performances among the mainstream media, Miranda Lambert and pop sensation Meghan Trainor brought a certain swagger and girl power to the 48th annual CMA Awards on Wednesday night (Nov. 5) as they ruled the stage proving to be "All About That Bass."

But prior to their female-empowering energy onstage, it was Kenny Chesney who rolled in for the show's opening with his upbeat and current chart-topping single, "American Kids." His psychedelic-inspired performance came complete with a floral, decorated bus and lively bikini-clad dancers to set the show into full momentum.

Lambert, the top nominee of the evening, strutted her toned physique in a fitted and flirty turquoise halter dress accompanied with glitzy heels. Trainor opted for a charming ensemble of pale pinks and black trim.

In fact, prior to the show, Lambert admitted the outfit was one of her favorites of the evening.

"It's cute. It's fun," she said.

The approving crowd cheered, danced and sang along as the two performed the multiplatinum hit featuring self-empowering lyrics (co-written by Trainor) encouraging women to celebrate their individual shapes and sizes rather than a Photoshopped-fantasy.

"If you got beauty, beauty, just raise 'em up/'Cause every inch of you is perfect/From the bottom to the top," the two sang back and forth to one another, clearly enjoying the significance of the song as much as their time onstage together.

And if Lambert seemed more than familiar with singing the catchy lyrics, that's because she was.

"That was like our tour song this tour," she said earlier, referring to her summer Platinum tour. "We listened to it every time before we went onstage. We have an Airstream Mountain we call Wanda. Wanda was rockin' with 'All About That Bass' pretty much every night.

"It's fun to sing with a girl that has such a great message," Lambert said. "It's for all of us. It's about being who you are and rockin' what you got."
