Little Big Town Nab CMA Vocal Group Award

It's Their Third Consecutive Win in the Category

With no shortage of of talented vocal groups making names for themselves in Nashville, the vocal group of the year category is always a crowded one at the CMA Awards. For a third year in a row, though, Little Big Town managed to take home the honor.

Pretty Little Liars star and budding country singer Lucy Hale joined on-the-verge duo Dan + Shay to present the award Wednesday night (Nov. 5) at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.

Upon taking the stage, Karen Fairchild exclaimed, "Thanks for making our costumes light up!" in reference to a neon-tinged performance from earlier in the evening.

"I don't know why we're the recipient of all these blessings coming down from heaven. But I tell you, we don't take it for granted for a second," Kimberly Schlapman told the audience.

This is the group's fourth CMA win and 16th nomination. Their most recent album, Pain Killer, hit shelves in late October, debuting at No. 3 on Billboard's country albums chart.

The group performed twice this evening. They first joined Ariana Grande for a Day-Glo version of their own song "Day Drinking" and her hit "Bang Bang." Later, they took the stage with Miranda Lambert on "Smokin' and Drinkin'" from Platinum, her latest project that won the CMA's album of the year award.

Other nominees for vocal group of the year included The Band Perry, the Eli Young Band, Lady Antebellum and the Zac Brown Band.
