Garth Brooks Plays His New Music for Reporters

The Superstar Goes Track-by-Track With Hot 20 Countdown

Who wouldn’t want to listen to Garth Brooks’ new music before anyone else, while the legend himself explains each song?

For this week’s episode of CMT Hot 20 Countdown , Brooks hosted such an event and invited reporters to Nashville for a full-blown listening party for his upcoming album, Man Against Machine. After the music finished, he talked about his new approach (or is it old?) to recording.

“It’s not technology amplified,” said the casually-dressed superstar. “It’s music.”

But there’s at least one thing Brooks can’t bring himself to do, and you’ll have to tune in to find out.

“It’s just not gonna happen,” he said.

Meanwhile, host Katie Cook goes behind the scenes of the 48th annual CMA Awards to reveal what fans aren’t usually supposed to see. She’ll talk with stars like Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and Eric Church along the way.

Plus, Florida Georgia Line head back to their old stomping grounds for a “Why didn’t we think of this earlier?” concert before the recent football game between the University of Florida and the University of Georgia, an event that’s been described as the “world’s largest outdoor cocktail party.” Judging by the massive, rowdy crowd that showed up, it’s about to become new tradition for the duo.

“This event, for us, is a bucket-list event,” said the duo’s Brian Kelley.

Tune in to catch all this and much more on this week’s episode of CMT Hot 20 Countdown , airing Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 8-9) at 11 a.m. ET/PT.
