We all have them, right? Those current obsessions we can’t stop talking about and listening to? And Miranda Lambert is not immune.
In a recent interview with CMT’s Cody Alan, Lambert raved about who and what she’s loving right now.
“Her music is amazing,” Lambert says of country newcomer RaeLynn. “She’s got a great personality. I believe in her.”
She loves Little Big Town, too, especially their new album, Pain Killer.
“I love Little Big Town. Their new record is amazing,” she told Alan. “They sent me the CD, and I haven’t taken it out of the CD player.”
As for pop’s overnight sensation Trainor, Lambert says she is “obsessed with her song.” She goes on to describe how “All About That Bass” plays a major role on her tour every night during her show prep.
“We listen to it at least 150 times on the tour,” Lambert said. “Right before we walk onstage, we crank it up. I’m not sick of it. And I mean literally, we turn it on and my whole band — all these dudes and these awesome crew guys dressed in black — are like, ‘I’m all about that bass.’ This is great! This song brings everyone together.”
And then there’s her main obsession, her husband Blake Shelton. He is always on her mind. She said he’ll be in Los Angeles taping The Voice until mid-December, but then they’re both looking forward to a few weeks off at Christmas.
In the meantime, thank God for smart phones.
“We text a lot. We try to talk every day before we go to bed,” Lambert said of the way she stays in touch with Shelton when they’re both away from home. “We don’t like to go a whole day without voice talking because sometimes you lose connection just texting all the time.”
