'Redneck Island''s Jessie James Decker Wants You for Christmas

Co-Host Asks Fans to Make Their Own “Baby! It’s Christmas” Music Video

Before Redneck Island premieres Thursday (Dec. 4) at 10 p.m. ET/PT, we sat down with the competition series co-host and country singer-songwriter Jessie James Decker to chat about holiday traditions and her recently-released single, “Baby! It’s Christmas,” available on iTunes.

“I wanted it to be soulful, bluesy and groovy. … I think it’s the perfect combination of that but with a little bit of twang,” she says about her holiday single. The song, which she co-wrote and produced with Daniel Tashian, debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Christmas chart.

And this isn’t her first time at the top. Earlier this year, she hit No. 1 on the iTunes albums chart with Comin’ Home. She’s also planning to release a new single titled “Clint Eastwood” this spring.

“It kind of gets back to how my first record (rode) the fence between country and pop, which is what country is now,” she explains.

Fans are already showing support after husband and New York Jets pro football player Eric Decker performed a little lip-syncing for her “Baby! It’s Christmas” video contest. Enjoy a few hand-picked favorites from the contest, including Eric’s video:

As for the Deckers’ holiday season, they make it a point to spend it together.

“This is actually going to be our first Christmas with [daughter Vivianne Rose], so we’re really excited,” she says. “It’s what everyone else does.”

They love watching The Family Man, putting on Amy Grant’s Christmas album and eating a turkey dinner on Christmas Eve. However, one tradition that may surprise you is making her mother’s traditional Sicilian gravy on Christmas. (Fun fact: If you didn’t already know, Jessie was born in Italy.)
