Carrie Underwood Creates Workout Clothing Line

Her Line of Women's Wear Will Be Sold at Dick's Sporting Goods

Carrie Underwood and Dick's Sporting Goods, a retailer specializing in athletic and outdoor gear, have announced a new clothing line of women's active wear.

Called Calia by Carrie Underwood, the line was designed for workouts and everyday activity with help from the country superstar.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Underwood said she had trouble finding workout clothes she liked.

"I consider myself to be a pretty hard worker in the gym," she said. "The high performance things aren't pretty. And then the super pretty things don't last a long time or don't do what I need them to do. So there is a big gap."

According to a statement from Underwood and Dick's, the new line will blend "functional details and performance-driven fabrics into sophisticatedly feminine designs."

“It has been such a rewarding experience working with Dick’s Sporting Goods on all aspects of the design process for Calia, from choosing fabrics to making sure the look, feel and fit is right for active women,” said Underwood in the statement.

“The inspiration for this line came from my desire to have clothes that seamlessly take me from workouts, to errands, to rehearsals and beyond. As someone who is passionate about health and fitness, I’m excited to offer women a wardrobe that will move with them and encourage them to stay the path of leading an active lifestyle.”

Calia by Carrie Underwood will be sold exclusively at Dick’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide and online beginning in March of 2015. It will reportedly feature capris and pants that will average $60 to $85 and tops that will average $30 to $35, all of which can be easily mixed and matched.
