Brooks & Dunn Are Ready to Reunite

They'll Join Reba for a String of Shows in Las Vegas

It was an announcement heard ’round the country music world when a reunited Brooks & Dunn and Reba McEntire revealed plans for a string of shows in Las Vegas on Wednesday (Dec. 3).

The shows kick off at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in June, and like many of the duo’s fans, Ronnie Dunn admits he wasn’t anticipating a Brooks & Dunn reunion.

“We didn’t think we would,” he told CMT Hot 20 Countdown. “And to be realistic and honest with you, we would not have probably done it had it not been for this [plan] coming out.”

“I don’t think any of us were really jumping on the idea of ’Let’s get a bunch of trucks and trusses and stages together and start dragging that back and forth together across America again,'” Kix Brooks added. “But we all went, ’Wouldn’t it be fun to go into Caesars’ room? Let’s see if they have any interest.’ That’s kinda how we wound up here. Because we thought if we could do that, it would really be a good time.”

The three will join the ranks of musical legends like Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Rod Stewart and Elton John who have called the Colosseum home. And over the span of their two-decade career, Brooks & Dunn say a Vegas residency is one of the few things they never did.

“We felt like we’d just about done it all in the 20 years that we did it,” said Dunn. “And this is a great spot. It’s convenient.”

“All this and money, too?” Brooks joked.

With months to go before the curtain rises for the first show, McEntire admits she’s especially happy her longtime friends have rekindled their musical partnership.

“I was so thrilled about them getting back together and us working together as a trio,” she said. “It’s gonna be history in the making.”
