Miranda Lambert’s Chill New Attitude

She’s Leaving Worry Behind Next Year

“Bother someone else.” Those are the three little words that Miranda Lambert’s going to try to say more often in the coming year. Call it her Chill Year’s Resolution.

Her new chill vibe is because, according to the new cover story in Marie Claire magazine, she was getting too stressed about too much.

“I’m always anxious. I will worry myself into oblivion. I was trying to make everything regimented, and it caused too much stress. I learned everything doesn’t have to be perfect,” Lambert told the magazine. “That sometimes it’s OK to say, ’I don’t want to be the boss today. I have PMS. Bother someone else.’”

And so far, so good. Lambert says she likes things better when they’re a little flawed anyway.

Plus, she sounds realistic. About everything.

Commenting on her marriage, she said, “I’m not sunshine and roses. Blake’s the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me out of my darkness.”

When they asked her about getting so slim, she said, “Everybody’s making this big, giant thing about it. It’s way too much focus on women’s bikini photos, and I hate it. Why do we care?”

And when they asked her about changing her lyrics to appeal to masses, she said, “No, that’s bullshit. I’d rather sell four copies of something that’s real than 4 million copies of something that’s fake.”

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
