The Voice Win Goes to Team Blake’s Craig Wayne Boyd

Blake Shelton Racks Up Fourth Victory in Seven Seasons

The fourth time proved to be yet another charm for Blake Shelton. The megastar’s team member Craig Wayne Boyd was crowned the winner of The Voice during Tuesday’s (Dec. 16) season finale, making it the fourth win for Team Blake in seven seasons of the series.

In USA Today’s report from a post-show press conference, Boyd revealed he was so caught off guard by the news of his win, he “screamed like a girl” and took time kiss his 2-year-old son after learning of his victory.

As you might expect, Shelton was incredibly excited about it, too.

“It’s (expletive) awesome!” Shelton declared during the press conference.

The show’s host Carson Daly shot back, “Merry Christmas, kids, from your Uncle Blake.”

Country stars also got in on the celebration via Twitter, sending their congratulations to Boyd and Shelton on the much deserved win.

Dierks Bentley, Chase Rice and Travis Tritt were a few of those offering their online messages, while Team Blake’s season three winner Cassadee Pope tweeted, “Congrats Blake Shelton with another win!! Well deserved, Craig Wayne Boyd.”

Reba McEntire even took time to tweet, “Congrats Blake! So happy for you and Craig Wayne Boyd!”

And, of course, Shelton’s biggest cheerleader — his wife Miranda Lambert — got in on the well-wishes, too, tweeting, “Whoop Whoop! Craig Wayne Boyd and Blake Shelton won The Voice! Country boys gettin’ it done!!!! So happy for you, Craig!”

Boyd performed an original song, “My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face,” during the finale. The single is now available on iTunes.

And while Boyd, who resides in Nashville, is the latest to win The Voice, other members of Team Blake are still continuing to make waves. Boyd’s fellow contestants Taylor Brashears and James David Carter have recorded a holiday duet, “Hangin’ Round the Mistletoe,” just in time for Christmas. With a donation of any amount to the Toys for Tots Foundation, the song is all yours.
