My invitation to visit Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks’ house for Christmas must have been lost in the mail. Which is a total bummer because, according to Yearwood, you’d definitely want to be in their home during the holidays.

“Our house does smell amazing during Christmas -- and it looks amazing during Christmas,” said Yearwood, who also hosts Trisha’s Southern Kitchen on the Food Network. “It’s my favorite holiday, so I am that girl who decorates over the top.”

I swear I can smell cider and cookies as I type.

So what is actually on Yearwood’s holiday menu? She says the big holiday meal is an obvious must, but the real fun is her cookie party with friends.

“Everybody comes over, and we bake our favorite cookies,” she said. “So there are tons of mixers going, tons of ovens going and tons of cookies. And then we all make plates and trade out and give them away and stuff. So it does smell good at my house during the holidays.”

What’s the one thing that could make this scenario even more perfect? Garth Brooks sitting in the kitchen with his guitar serenading everyone with Christmas classics.

But enough about my Christmas fantasy. Unless Santa wants to deliver. Oh, Santa!?
