Jimmy Fallon Calls Keith Urban the “Better Decision”

What If Nicole Kidman Had Had Chemistry With Talk Show Host?

It’s hard to imagine a world where Keith Urban isn’t married to Nicole Kidman. And yet, it sounds like she came this close to hooking up with Jimmy Fallon once upon a time.

On Tuesday’s (Jan. 6) Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Kidman revealed a story about their would-be love affair after their mutual friend Rick had arranged a hang at Fallon’s apartment.

To prepare for Kidman’s visit, Fallon went to a deli and bought brie cheese and corn chips. He put on some video games. And he barely said a word. How did she not fall crazy in love right there in his bachelor pad?

This was how Kidman described that day — sometime between her divorce from Tom Cruise and the day she met Urban.

“You’re there in a baseball cap … and you wouldn’t talk,” she recalled to Fallon. “You didn’t say anything. And then you put a video game on or something. It was bad, I swear. And so after about an hour and a-half I thought, ‘He has no interest. This is so embarrassing.’”

But it’s not like she didn’t have a theory about what went wrong.

“I kind of left and went, ‘OK. No chemistry,’” Kidman said. “And I was like, ‘Maybe he’s gay.’”

Even better than Kidman’s version of events is watching Fallon’s shock over what could have been.

In the end, though, they both ended up living happily ever after with their current spouses.

“You made a much better decision,” Fallon admitted. “Keith Urban is so much cooler than I am.”
