Jackson kicked off his 25th anniversary Keepin’ It Country tour in Fort Myers, Florida, on Thursday night (Jan. 8). Just like you’d expect, it went swimmingly — especially for Pardi, one of the tour’s openers, who is fully aware that opportunities like this one don’t come along every day.
“It’s a big deal,” Pardi said in a recent interview provided by his record label. “I’m very happy and kind of amazed that I got this slot, even chosen to be on it.”
Yes, that modesty is endearing, but I have to say, I’m not surprised. In fact, Pardi’s presence on this tour shouldn’t be surprising to anyone who’s a fan of the California cowboy. He’s making major waves with his distinctive voice, catchy songs, wildly-entertaining stage presence and one-of-a-kind charm and wit.
In other words, Pardi is just about perfect, in my book. And his star is only going to continue to rise.
And, let’s face it, a little assist from a tour with an icon like Jackson can only help.
“It’s a real honor,” he said. “I’m just glad to be out here celebrating the 25th anniversary of Alan Jackson.”
Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Brandy Clark is also joining them on the trek, which pulls into Tampa for a Friday night show. The tour runs through May when it will ride off into the Denver sunset at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
