Miranda Lambert Loves Blake Shelton's Voice

And He Loves Hers

I realize that the love between a husband and a wife isn’t huge news. It shouldn’t be, anyway.

But this is just kind of too sweet not to share.

In a recent People.com story, Miranda Lambert played the Two Truths and a Lie game. The lie was that “Monster Mash" is her least favorite song ever. In fact, she says she and Blake Shelton listen to it every morning because it makes her happy.

“Everyone has a couple's song,” she said. “Ours is 'Monster Mash.'"

One of the truths is that she still gets star-struck and did when she met Merle Haggard four years ago.

But this is the truth I’m crazy about.

Lambert admits she never thought she was much of a singer.

"Blake really pushed me as a singer,” she said. “I never thought I was a singer. I always thought I was just a songwriter who could kind of sing. And he was like, 'You need to start singing. I don't know where you got that in your head.’”

And that meant a lot coming from him.

“And him being such an amazing vocalist, it's great to have him this close in my life,” she said. “I get to hear him just sing around the house, which is amazing. We both sing around the house. I love that his voice is so country, and he's so fun with that.

“He doesn't try to be anything he's not, and his range is just so effortless when he sings. It's something I strive to be as a vocalist."
