When I think back to Carrie Underwood’s first American Idol audition, all I remember is her voice. Well, I vaguely remember her pink T-shirt and blue jeans. And some messy curls.
But what Underwood recalls from that time in her life is a look she kind of regrets.
“Oh, hair! I tend to have a natural curl in my hair, anyway, but not a whole lot,” she recently told the Huffington Post. “When I was in college, I would put a lot of product in my hair and force it to be curly. And I definitely did that on my first Idol audition! I call it my ’crunchy’ hair. That, I might like to undo if I could.”
Now that those crunchy hair days are over, Underwood is in her happy place with her hair, her style and her health. So she shared some of her tips, like working out, drinking water and not rushing the beauty routine.
She claims that if she has to, she can do it all in 15 minutes. But she prefers to be more chill about it if she can.
“I mean, I kind of like taking my time in the morning,” she said. “I’m waking up and trying to get myself going for the rest of the day. But I can be ready, start to finish in about 15 minutes — hair, makeup, everything — if I have to be, but I’d really rather not.”
