Country Stars Take on the Super Bowl

Dierks Bentley, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean in Phoenix for Saturday Concert

We’ve been waiting all season for Sunday’s (Feb. 1) Super Bowl showdown, and country’s biggest stars are no exception.

Dierks Bentley is in his hometown of Phoenix for Saturday’s (Jan. 31) concert with Florida Georgia Line and Jason Aldean at US Airways Center, and CMT’s Cody Alan will be partying Sunday with Big & Rich and newcomer Chase Bryant when he hosts the CMT After Midnite After Party at Bentley’s Whiskey Row restaurant in Scottsdale.

Bentley and Gavin DeGraw will be performing during the tailgate party at University of Phoenix Stadiumin Glendale for segments to be televised lived as part of NBC's pregame show.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a fantastic weekend without the involvement of Carrie Underwood. Her voice has kicked off NBC's Sunday Night Football for the past two seasons, and she has recorded "Waiting All Day for a Super Bowl Fight," a reworked version of the usual theme song, "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night."

Country music was already full force Wednesday when the Zac Brown Band headlined the DIRECTV Super Fan Festival at Pendergast Family Farm just across the street from University of Phoenix Stadium. The festival also featured Thomas Rhett, Sam Hunt and the Cadillac Three.

Even though Idina Menzel will sing the national anthem, John Legend will perform "America the Beautiful" and Katy Perry will be providing the halftime entertainment, who said Super Bowl weekend wasn’t going to get a little country?

NBC’s coverage of Super Bowl XLIX activities begins Sunday at noon ET, and the big game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks begins at 6:30 p.m. ET.
