Sam Smith Wants In on the Kacey Musgraves Craze

Will the Grammy Darlings Collaborate?

Sam Smith is obviously this year's Grammy darling. But last year, it was country’s own Kacey Musgraves when she won the Grammy for best country album.

So is anyone surprised the two of them could actually make music together?

E! Online’s Marc Malkin got Twitter going when he tweeted during the Grammy Awards that Smith told him he was thinking about the idea.

"I like Kacey Musgraves, the county singer. She's great. That would be great,” Smith said.

And when Malkin reported it, Musgraves immediately tweeted back.

It sounds like Smith was taking full advantage of his beloved status during Grammy weekend, “fan girling” (his words) over Carole King, trading tweets with Lady Gaga and getting so drunk after his four wins, he was “on another level of hungover right now” the next day.

If Smith and Musgraves do something together, it’s good he is being upfront about working with another artist. Because last time, on his breakout hit “Stay With Me,” he accidentally collaborated with Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne, and there was a problem.
