I know Brett Eldredge saw me staring at his biceps during our recent interview, but how could I look away from such an impressive gun show?

Chances are, if you’ve seen photos of Eldredge lately, you’ve also noticed the “Mean to Me” singer looking extra … ahem … buff.

That’s because he makes working on his fitness a top priority.

The singer confessed to me he hits the gym five or six days a week.

“I have to,” he said. “I go crazy if I don’t!”

And from what he revealed about his specific workout regimen, “crazy” might also be the operative word to describe it.

“I do crazy workouts, kind of boot campish kind of stuff — more like CrossFit stuff but with heavier weights and stuff.”

And he apparently doesn’t limit workout moments to his downtime on the road. He’s been known to sneak in some moves up until the moment he performs.

Over the weekend, a fan on Twitter asked about his pre-show ritual.

But it’s this kind of dedication that keeps him in check. And when you have a career and schedule as crazy as Eldredge’s, that’s exactly what you need — discipline and dedication.

“I never know where I’m going,” he confesses with a laugh. “You have to put it in there.”
