Faith Hill’s Advice for Tim McGraw

"Just Hold On and Do It," She Says

I know, I know. Ryan Seacrest’s interview with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill on their way into the Academy Awards on Sunday night (Feb. 22) was all about his Glen Campbell tribute.

But did anyone else also pick up on this scoop that Hill has a crush on George Clooney?

Here’s how I arrived at that conclusion.

Seacrest was asking McGraw about his outfit (Lanvin tuxedo, no cowboy hat), then about his performance of Campbell’s Oscar-nominated song, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You.”

“This makes you nervous. It’s such a big event. And so many great people are out here,” McGraw said. “This song is pretty special.”

Hill chimed in because she’s done this before. She performed “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” at the Oscars in 2002. So she said her only advice for her husband was to, “Just hold on and do it.”

Then they chatted about how he gets nervous when she’s performing, and she gets nervous when he’s performing.

“It’ll be tough in the audience, for me. I apologize to anybody sitting near me for what I might do,” she laughed.

McGraw immediately said that what she might do is grab George Clooney’s knee.

Even though Clooney is a newlywed, he probably wouldn’t mind. I mean, did you see Hill? In that beaded, long-sleeved J. Mendel gown with a plunging neckline and a plunging Lorraine Schwartz diamond necklace to go with it?
