Hunter Hayes: Three RIAA Certifications in One Day

He Did Say He Wanted Crazy, Right?

This is crazy. Crazy crazy. Just like Hunter Hayes sings in his hit song “I Want Crazy.”

The country singer was just awarded three RIAA certifications in one single day. (The Recording Industry Association of America is the organization that awards gold and platinum certifications for music sales and streams.)

On Wednesday (March 4), the RIAA let Hayes know that he’d earned double platinum certification for “I Want Crazy” for reaching the 2-million level. Plus, he received gold certifications — signifying 500,000 units — for “Everybody’s Got Somebody But Me” and “Invisible.”

That’s good news for a lot of reasons, but Hayes is just happy he’s connecting with fans.

“As a musician, you always hope your songs connect, whether it’s with one person or 100 people or even thousands,” he said. “To know that this many people went out and bought these songs and are playing my music, it’s the best feeling in the world. It means we’re in this together, and I’m so grateful for that.”

And not to put any pressure on Hayes or anything, but he’s currently in the studio making new music right now. Seriously, though. No pressure.
