Was Jason Aldean’s Wedding Song His New Single?

Singer Has New Wife and a New Tune

Somehow, I just don’t picture Jason Aldean requesting “Trumpet Voluntary” or Mendelssohn’s “Recesssional” or any other traditional music for his wedding. So the fact that he married Brittany Kerr on Saturday (March 21) — just a couple of days before releasing a new single to radio — makes me wonder if this was their song.

His new “Tonight Looks Good on You” is certainly sexy enough. And romantic enough. And sultry enough to be a good choice for the first slow dance.

The lyrics are all about telling a girl how good her dress, her jeans, her everything look, but that there’s something about that Southern sky that goes perfect with her eyes.

“Girl, tonight looks good on you,” Aldean sings.

When you hear it on the radio, it could be about anyone. But if he’d played it at their wedding, I’m sure his new bride’s heart would have melted.

“I’ve loved this song since the first time I heard it,” Aldean said in a statement announcing the song as his new single. “It’s smooth and has a really sexy vibe that’s almost a little bit intoxicating.”

The song was written by Dallas Davidson, Rhett Akins and Ashley Gorley, kind of the trifecta of country hitmakers. And it sounds like Aldean’s honored he was the one to cut it.

“I think my sound has definitely evolved, and you can hear that in this new single,” he said. “I just appreciate the opportunity to release all different kinds of songs and try different things and that we’ve been able to sort of do it our own way and that the fans have followed right along with us.”
