Country Stars Have Little Big Town’s Back in “Girl Crush” Controversy

Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Kacey Musgraves and Others Have a #SongCrush

I think Miranda Lambert spoke for all of the country stars when she said, “I got a song crush.”

She just wrote that on Twitter. And that song she’s crushing on is the one every other country star can’t stop talking about — Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush.”

The stars are flooding social media with photos, hashtags and love to sing the song’s praises.

Lambert’s tweet included a plea to radio stations — #PlayGirlCrush — and a picture of her kissing her husband Blake Shelton. They are both wearing their red-and-white “Girl Crush” trucker hats. Shelton showed his support by retweeting that.

Reba McEntire did it, too, by tipping her hat to the band.

Tipping my hat to my friends @littlebigtown for their single #girlcrush!

And Kacey Musgraves got her whole band in on the action with their matching “Girl Crush” hats.

Ashley Monroe wore one.

I ❤️ @littlebigtown. #GIRLCRUSH

So did the Cadillac Three.

And Kenny Chesney’s tourmates Old Dominion did it, as well.

Then newcomer Kelsea Ballerini didn’t just sing the song’s praises. She posted a video of her version of “Girl Crush.” She’s sitting on the floor in a bedroom somewhere, alone with a guitar and a laptop. And it is on point.

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
