Little Big Town: A Decade Past “Boondocks”

"It's Everything We've Ever Wanted"

It’s been just about a decade since Little Big Town enjoyed their big breakthrough with “Boondocks.” That song was a hit back then, and the band’s Karen Fairchild says they still keep in in their set list all these years later.

“We pull out the stuff that the fans we feel like want to hear,” she tells CMT Hot 20 Countdown. “We try to make sure that we’re crafting the set list so that we’re introducing them to new things but then also taking them on a ride of the songs that they call and request on the radio.”

Fairchild’s husband — the band’s Jimi Westbrook — adds that playing 10 years of hits for their fans is always a thrill.

“There’s nothing better than standing up there and playing our songs and have people coming to see us,” he said. “It’s everything we’ve ever wanted.”

Little Big Town’s current single “Girl Crush” continues its climb up the country charts — and not necessarily because of the buzz surrounding the misunderstood interpretation of the song.
