FGL, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean Top Country Nominees at Billboard Music Awards

Carrie Underwood Gets Nod for Top Christian Song

Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean are the most-nominated country artists for the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, it was announced Tuesday (April 7).

Winners will be declared on an ABC-TV special broadcast live from Las Vegas on May 17.

Former country queen Taylor Swift netted the most nominations — 14 in 13 categories.

Florida Georgia Line is the lone country act to be nominated in a general division. They’re in the running for top duo or group against 5 Seconds of Summer, MAGIC!¸ Maroon 5 and One Direction.

Carrie Underwood is tapped in the top Christian song category for “Something in the Water.”

The nominees in the country categories are:

Top country artist: Aldean, Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert and Blake Shelton.

Top country album: Aldean’s Old Boots, New Dirt, Garth Brooks’ Man Against Machine, Bryan’s Crash My Party, Gilbert’s Just As I Am and Miranda Lambert’s Platinum.

Top country song: Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ It Down,” Luke Bryan’s “Play It Again,” Sam Hunt’s “Leave the Night On,” Florida Georgia Line “This Is How We Roll” (featuring Bryan) and Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt.”
