Carrie Underwood’s 8-Week-Old Son Loves Naps With His Dad

Mike Fisher on Bringing Up Baby Isaiah

Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood’s baby boy Isaiah is just about 8 weeks old. That means he’s probably smiling, cooing and possibly even rolling over. But it also means he’s still doing a lot of sleeping.

And that’s good news for his dad, who told The Tennessean newspaper that one of the best parts of fatherhood so far is the naps that he and Isaiah take in his La-Z-Boy recliner.

“You’re just cuddling together,” Fisher said. “Just being together. It’s the best, for sure.”

Since Fisher travels for work — he is on the Nashville Predators — he is that much more amazed at how quickly Isaiah is growing up.

“You come back from eight days, and it’s like, holy cow, he changed so much,” he said. “It’s crazy how fast it goes. You almost want to slow down time a little bit.”

(Can someone please download a playlist for Fisher that includes Darius Rucker’s “It Won’t Be Like This for Long,” Kenny Chesney’s “There Goes My Life” and Trace Adkins“Then They Do”?)

But like any new dad, Fisher admits that sometimes even the peace and quiet during his son’s nap can become something else to worry about.

“You almost want to hear him cry to make sure everything’s OK. Too much silence,” he said. “You’re making sure everything’s OK.”
