Carrie Underwood Is Top Nominee at 2015 CMT Music Awards

Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum Claim Four Nominations Each

With five nominations, Carrie Underwood leads the field at the 2015 CMT Music Awards set to air live June 10 from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

Kenny Chesney and Lady Antebellum received four nominations each, and Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Maddie & Tae and Miranda Lambert nabbed three each. Two nominations each went to Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Lee Ann Womack, Luke Bryan and newcomers RaeLynn and Sam Hunt.

Underwood’s nominations include two mentions in the video of the year category -- for “Something in the Water” and with Lambert for “Somethin’ Bad.” Underwood also claimed two nominations for female video of the year -- for “Little Toy Guns” and “Something in the Water.” “Somethin’ Bad” received another nomination for collaborative video of the year.

The CMT performance of the year span a wide range of musical genres represented on the network’s music programs. CMT Crossroads appearances resulted in nominations for combinations of Katy Perry/Kacey Musgraves, Bob Seger/Aldean and John Legend/Womack. Lady Antebellum received two nominations for collaborations with Aloe Blacc (from CMT’s Ultimate Kickoff Party) and Chris Stapleton from CMT Artists of the Year). Brett Eldredge, Urban and Chesney each received solo nominations in the CMT performance of the year division.

Fans can vote online at CMT.com and on their mobile device at CMT Mobile now through June 8 to determine the winners. The six finalists for video of the will be announced at the beginning of the live show, and fans can then vote at CMT.com, CMT mobile and via text message throughout the live telecast (ET/CT only) to determine the night’s big winner.

Tickets for the 2015 CMT Music Awards go on sale Saturday (May 16) at 11 a.m. CT at all Ticketmaster outlets and the Bridgestone Arena box office. Performers, presenters and this year’s host will be announced in the coming weeks.
