Jason Aldean Shares the Screen in New Music Video

Says He’s "Almost Like a Secondary Person" in "Tonight Looks Good on You"

Jason Aldean says he’s “almost like a secondary person in the video” for his current single, “Tonight Looks Good on You,” and that’s fine with him.

The sultry video premiered this past weekend on CMT Hot 20 Countdown, and Aldean offered a behind-the-scenes look at the video shoot.

“This is kinda one of those things where the couple that’s in the video, I’m almost like a secondary person in the video, and so it’s more about them,” Aldean said. “Basically, it’s … I work with a guy here in this factory and basically take over his shift for him so he can get home, take his wife out.”

The video also puts Aldean in a different perspective.

“I think the song is more about how he views her, so that’s what tells the story,” he said. “I just sort of end up taking a backseat, singing to them throughout the video.”

Aldean had an acting role in Sweetwater, a 2013 film that starred Ed Harris and January Jones.

“That was fun,” he said. “That was my first time kind of dabbling into that a little bit. It was kinda one of those things that I said I wanted to start doing more of here and there and, so I had a little chance to do it in the video. I thought it would be cool. I’m not sure how much acting will be going on in the video, but anytime you can step out of your comfort zone a little bit and do something where people see you in a different light, I think It’s cool for me to do and cool for the fans to see, too.”

With a heavy touring schedule this year, it’s unlikely he’ll be taking on any additional film roles in the near future.

“For me, I love playing music too much,” he said. “That’s really what I love to do, and I don’t want to stop that for months at a time.”
