Carrie Underwood Finds a Little "Me Time"

Nap When the Baby Naps? No Way

You know that mantra of new moms everywhere, telling you to "nap when the baby naps"? For Carrie Underwood, she’s using her baby boy's crib time a little differently.

That's her time to take care of herself.

“Whenever he goes to sleep, I do the things I need to do for myself and make workouts happen when they can," Underwood told People. “Having a baby definitely changes your routine, and I have to work around his schedule."

“I really haven’t taken that much time ‘off’ because there are always things to do. It’s been really nice to be able to focus my attention on Isaiah and our family. It’s been really good! But it’s been really nice as well to be creative, working on music, working on Calia," she said of her new line of fitness clothing.

Baby Isaiah is just about 14 weeks old now, so he’s at an age when his nap schedule could be potentially -- and hopefully -- getting more predictable.

Which means Underwood can ease into getting ready for her upcoming appearances in Nashville: Tuesday (June 9) at the Grand Ole Opry, Wednesday (June 10) on the CMT Music Awards and June 13 at CMA Music Festival.
