Tim McGraw to Star in The Shack

Faith-Based Project Will Be His 10th Film

Tomorrowland’s Tim McGraw”? That’s how The Wrap.com referred to him, so will Hollywood start thinking of him simply as a movie star who just starred in a recent film?

How about everybody make a pact right here to forever and always refer to him as “country music superstar Tim McGraw”? Isn’t that more true to who McGraw is and to the legacy he’s created since his first huge hit song “Indian Outlaw” in 1994? Doesn’t 21 years of solid country music trump a handful of side jobs?

I get that he’s been doing more and more movies, starting with Black Cloud back in 2004, and now he’s about the add to that list.

According to The Wrap, McGraw is going to star in The Shack, which will be his 10th movie. He’ll star with Alice Braga, Sam Worthington and Octavia Spencer in the new project based on the bestselling 2007 book about a man whose youngest daughter is abducted during a family vacation. There’s an abandoned shack where she was allegedly murdered, and her father goes back there to find clues because God tells him to.

There’s no word yet on who is playing who in the movie, but you have to think the key character will be God.

Alison makes her living loving country music. She's based in Chicago, but she's always leaving her heart in Nashville.
