Little Big Town Canceling, Rescheduling Tour Dates

Jimi Westbrook Will Undergo Vocal Cord Surgery Next Week

Little Big Town is canceling or rescheduling all of their concerts through July 30 after band member Jimi Westbrook learned he will undergo vocal cord surgery.

The quartet made the announcement Wednesday (June 17) on their official website and via social media.

“With heavy hearts, we want to let you guys know that Jimi will have to undergo surgery next week to remove a polyp on his vocal cord,” they said in a joint statement. “As a result, doctors have ordered him to rest his voice and completely recuperate before we continue touring. All shows through July 30 will be cancelled or rescheduled.

“It breaks our hearts to let you guys down, but Jimi’s health is the most important thing, and he is expected to make a full recovery with rest and treatment. We will keep everyone updated on Jimi’s progress. Thanks for your understanding and support.”

Little Big Town had a heavy tour schedule for June and July, among them a high-profile show Thursday night at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. The L.A. date has been moved to Sept. 10.

The dates also included several amphitheaters, a show at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas and two festival gigs in Canada.

Little Big Town performed Saturday during the CMA Music Festival’s nightly concert series at Nashville’s LP Field.
