Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line Talk CMA Music Festival

CMT Hot 20 Countdown Also Catches Up With Luke Bryan

It’s been nearly a week since the 2015 CMA Music Festival wrapped up in Nashville, and fans and artists like Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan are still reeling from an incredible four days.

In fact, ask almost any country artist what the festival is really about and they’ll quickly answer that it’s showing their appreciation to fans in a huge way.

“For me, it means getting a chance to be here in town and a way to say thank you to the fans and get up close and personal with them,” Aldean told CMT Hot 20 Countdown’s Cody Alan. “In a lot of cases, it’s a chance to say hi, shake a couple of hands and sign a hat or whatever they have, a picture with them.

“The fans have given me a pretty great life. So, for me, it’s a time to give back and show my appreciation for that and trying to get as up close and personal with the fans.

From the nightly stadium shows at LP Field shows to the smaller stages and intimate fan club parties, the artists never miss an opportunity to connect with their followers.

After winning duo video of the year honors at the 2015 CMT Music Awards, Florida Georgia Line turned up the heat onstage at the festival and also met with fans for some one-on-one time.

“We spent two hours with the fans signing and we went to another little signing thing,” FGL’s Brian Kelley said. “It’s cool to see people come from all over, to hear the stories how they’ve connected to our music and how it’s touching everybody’s lives and to see other artists and how their music is touching everybody’s lives. It’s a very special time.”

Bryan is following up the CMA Music Festival with some big shows on the road.

“We’ve already had a big year, but we’re fixin’ to get into … the meat of our touring with stadiums,” he told Hot 20’s Katie Cook. “And we’re doing a lot of double night amphitheaters which is fun, to pull up at an amphitheater and to do a show and then to get to hang around.

“A lot of times, we go to these cities and we’re like in there, out of there, and we didn’t get to see the cities. So the fact that I’ve got multiple nights in a lot of these places helps me kind of take in the area.”
