Country Salaries Are Flourishing, 'Forbes' Says

Garth Brooks Is Highest-Earning Country Artist During Past 12 Months

I realize that making money isn't a competition. Or at least I hope it isn't. But after so many Forbes lists that have Toby Keith at the very top of its highest-paid country celebrities, I thought it was interesting that Garth Brooks claimed the distinction for the latest 12-month tally.

In the most recent World's Highest-Paid Celebrities list, Forbes has Brooks at No. 6 with his $90 million. That’s in large part to his comeback tour that he kicked off in September 2014. And Keith came in at roughly half that, with his still-more-money-than-I'll-ever-make-in-10-lifetimes $53 million.

Boxers Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao came in at the very top of the list with respective earnings of $300 million and $160 million. Also in the Top 10 are Katy Perry (No. 3 with $135 million) and Taylor Swift (No. 8 with $80 million).

Other notable rankings include:

No. 14: Eagles ($73.5 million)

No. 47: Jason Aldean ($43.5 million)

No. 48: Luke Bryan ($42.5 million)

No. 49: Kenny Chesney ($42 million)

No. 58: Tim McGraw ($38 million)

No. 61: Florida Georgia Line ($36.5 million)

No. 78: Zac Brown Band ($32 million)

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton tied at No. 95 with $28.5 million each, proving that working couples will always remain in high regard at the IRS.
