Jason Aldean this week tweeted that he’s in the studio making new music. This will be his seventh album.
“back in the studio for album #7…… Cant wait for u guys to hear what me and the boys are up to!!! @tullykennedy @kurtallison @richredmond @musicknox #newmusic,” he wrote of his longtime studio and road band.
This is all so weird for me. Even with stadium sellouts and back-to-back No. 1 hits, I still kind of think of him as a newcomer.
But when you actually pull out his debut self-titled album, you realize that it came out exactly 10 years ago next week.
That decade flew by, right?
So just to get comfortable with the fact that Aldean might now be considered more of a country music veteran than a rookie, I’ll share with you — for Throwback Thursday — my top ten favorites from his last ten years.
“Grown Woman” (an outstanding duet he did with Miranda Lambert, back in the day)
“Texas Was You”
“Back in This Cigarette”
“This I Gotta See”
“If My Truck Could Talk”
