Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are officially divorcing following a four-year marriage, a spokesperson for Shelton confirmed Monday (July 20) to CMT.

The divorce was reported by The Associated Press and TMZ, with TMZ adding that the divorce documents were filed recently in Oklahoma and that financial arrangements will be determined by a prenuptial agreement.

"This is not the future we envisioned, and it is with heavy heart that we move forward separately,” the couple said in a statement to E! “We are real people, with real lives, with real family, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."

It’s the second marriage for Shelton, 39, and the first for Lambert, 31. Shelton was married to Kaynette Gern from 2003 until 2006.

Shelton and Lambert met in 2005 when they teamed up to sing “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahama” on CMT's 100 Greatest Duets concert special.

They were married on May 14, 2011, at the Don Strange Ranch near Boerne, Texas, a community located approximately 45 minutes from San Antonio. Attendees included Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Dierks Bentley, Cee Lo Green and Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley.
